A word from the Founder and President

My passion for aromas began in the summer of 1980 when I had the pleasure of working with a cooperative, producing fresh herbs in the Eastern Townships. Come fall, enriched by my experiences, I opened a health food store / kitchen with fresh vegetarian meals in Montreal, this, on the eve of the organic industry in Canada! Raised as a vegetarian, this was a natural direction for me. It was at this point that I began to discover the fascinating universe of essential oils and other aromatic materials that I now import from around the world.

In 1986 I worked for one of the first French producers of “natural” beauty products. A new phenomenon for the era. However, at that time petrochemicals ruled, and thus natural and synthetic ingredients were often intermingled. Becoming aware of the harmful and devastating effects of these synthetic ingredients on human and environmental health only increased and affirmed my interest in essential oils. So much so, that in 1988 I founded a laboratory that developed ecological beauty products and doubled as an importer of raw materials for truly natural cosmetics.

In 1994, I created UNION NATURE with the mission to import to Canada, under the trademark of "Divine Essence", the finest certified organic essential oils and floral waters from the four corners of the globe. I still travel the world seeking small artisan producers to bring you these wonderful olfactory treasures.

The adventure now continues this spring with a distillation project of organic conifers from our Canadian Forest. I hope that you will discover and share with us this passion for authentic certified organic essential oils.
