PRODUCT QUALITY

Part of the mission of UNION NATURE is to offer and promote certified organic essential oils, floral waters and vegetable oils of the highest quality.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC

All too often on the market we find essential oils claiming to be organic, but the reality is they have no certification recognized by the Quebec and Canadian governments. After rigorous studies, UNION NATURE has chosen ECOCERT CANADA as an organic certifier due to its professionalism and international presence (ECOCERT is active in more than 85 countries across the world).

All of DIVINE ESSENCE® organic products have the ECOCERT logo and the following mention:

Please see our links section for more information on organic certification, provincial and federal regulations.

WILD HARVESTING: OVEREXPLOITATION VS. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

It often occurs that an aromatic plant will be found growing wild without any human intervention and that the person or organization that harvests these plants does not have the means or the necessary volume to be able to certify the product organic. In these cases, UNION NATURE will ensure that the producer works in close collaboration with different local stakeholders, including the government, to avoid the overharvesting of the wild aromatic plant.

In other cases, a partnership with producers who follow sustainable practices, such as planting three or four trees for each one tree cut, is preferred. Sustainable practices such as these avoid the overexploitation of endangered species such as Rosewood from Brazil and Sandalwood from India (in the case of Sandalwood from India, our sustainable Sandalwood from New Caledonia is a very good alternative).

CONVENTIONAL AGRICULTURE

It may happen, for various reasons that are out of our control, that it becomes impossible to obtain a certain essential oil or other aromatic products that are certified organic. In this situation, UNION NATURE will offer essential oils that are produced by conventional agriculture. Nonetheless UNION NATURE will always ensure that the producer uses good quality plants and respects the art of artisan distillation.

In addition, the analysis of every lot of essential oil helps us to determine if any traces of residue from pesticides or other chemicals are present in the product.
